2nd Grade Annual Gingerbread House Making

Ms. Helmbrecht’s and Ms. Hull’s classes will be making Gingerbread Houses on Wednesday, December 21st.  This is a great event and a great opportunity to get involved at school!  In order to do this we will need many volunteers to come in and help from 12:45-2:45.  We will need volunteers to help with decorating, making the gingerbread houses at school, clean up, as well as providing extra batches of frosting.

Ingredients Each Student Will Need
(Please send to school on or before December 21st.)
v  1 Package of graham crackers (Keebler graham crackers work the best due to the perforations)
v  1 LARGE box to carry home the gingerbread house
v  1 piece of stiff cardboard (approximately 12 inches square covered in aluminum foil.)
v  1 Package (or more) of materials of choice for decorating to share (ex. cereal, candy, spearmint leaves, mints, candy canes, gum drops, etc.)  By sharing this will keep the cost low but everyone will have a variety.
v  Please do not bring any peanut products!!!
All houses will be brought home that day!

Winter Concert

Just a reminder that tonight is our Winter Concert at Westwood Community Church.  The K-2 performance is at 6:00 p.m.  Please have your child meet in the back room, "the barn", at 5:50 p.m. to line up.  At the conclusion of the concert, please check in with your child's homeroom teacher to pick up your child.  There will be a collection for the food shelf, so any nonperishable food items would be appreciated.  The students have been busy preparing for the concert.  We wish them the best of luck!
